A
NEW BEGINNING
Life is full of uncertainties
yet one aspect is absolute i.e. change
is a constant.
We live in an ever-changing
world where change takes place at a
dizzying speed. Coupled with the lighting
speed of the cyberworld changes are
transmitted all over the globe in minutes.
These continuous changes
are responses to dynamics played out
on the planet such as politics, economics,
social, etc and waits for no man.
Those that resist it
are overtaken whilst those that embrace
it welcome it as new challenges and
new beginnings.
The Respected Professor
Yawar Baig very aptly stated,
“Those who
ignore change, will perish-
Those who adapt to change, will survive-
Those who anticipate change, will prosper
–
And those who influence change, will
transform”
We are grateful to
the many letters and calls we received
from you on transforming our website.
One reader described it as “tired
and in urgent need of oxygen”.
We heard you and are pleased to announce
our fresh new look “oxygenated”
website www.sanha.org.za
Jazakumullah Khairan
for your input. This is only the beginning
and we pledge to continue with improvements
on an ongoing basis. We are also updating
our database and request email addresses
of you, your family and friends.
As humans we are prone
to errors and are not perfect. In fact
we reserve the right to be wrong and
accordingly request your suggestions
and criticisms.

aim and objectives, particularly in
reference to “establish contacts
and co-operate with other associations
on matters of mutual interest,”

and is represented on its Executive
Board.

Umm ‘Asim
radiyallahu anha narrates:
Nubayshah, the freed-slave
of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam
came to us whilst we were eating from
a common dish. The Nabi sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam then said, “Whoever
eats from a dish and then licks it clean,
the utensil will ask for forgiveness
on his behalf.” [at-Tirmizi]
Comment:
-
There are added
blessings in the food when eating
as a group rather than individually.
-
Several people
eating from a common dish is Sunnah.
-
The Quran declares,
“…there is not a thing
which does not glorify His praises,
but you do not understand their
glorification…” [al-Isra:
44]
-
Here we have
an example of an inanimate object’s
[the dish’s] glorification.
-
The benefit of
receiving the dish’s seeking
forgiveness, is that it never sinned.
The implication of the Hadith is
that its supplication is accepted.
-
The linkage between
food and seeking forgiveness is
that the strength gained from the
food should be used for good, and
forgiveness sought for its misuse.
-
Islam condemns
wastage of even morsels of food.
-
When even a morsel
cannot be wasted, the Children of
Adam, as representatives of Allah
on earth are obliged to care for
the environment and not plunder
it.

face for their daily prayer.
The first part of the
hotel and the clock will be operational

In the serious world of Halaal, we take
this moment to bring you a smile, a
chuckle or even a hearty laugh. It's
therapeutic, so pass it on:
Father-In-Law's Business
A very successful businessman had
a meeting with his new son-in-law.
"I love my daughter, and now
I welcome you into the family,"
said the man. "To show you how
much we care for you, I am making
you a 50-50 partner in my business.
All you have to do is go to the factory
every day and learn the operations."
The son-in-law interrupted. "I
hate factories. I can't stand the
noise." "I see," replied
the father-in-law.
"Well then you'll work in the
office and take charge of some of
the operations."
"I hate office work," said
the son-on-law. "I can't stand
being stuck behind a desk all day."
"Wait a minute," said
the father-in-law. "I just made
you a half-owner of a profitable corporation,
but you don't like factories and won't
work in a office. What am I going
to do with you?"
"Easy," said the young
man. "Buy me out."

One
out of every five persons on this planet is
a Muslim. He is your neighbour, customer,
supplier, employee, boss or friend.
BELIEF IN HIS BOOKS
What is Islam’s
position on the other Scriptures revealed
by God?
Muslims believe in all the
original scriptures revealed by God Almighty
to His various Messengers. A Muslim must believe
in every scripture mentioned by God Almighty
in the Qur’an. Allah, the Giver, revealed
them and they were, in their original forms,
the actual word of God Almighty. The scriptures
God Almighty mentions in the Quran are as
follows:-
1. The original Scrolls as
revealed to Abraham (peace
be upon him)
2. The original Torah as
revealed to Moses (peace
be upon him)
3. The original Psalms as
revealed to David (peace
be upon him)
4. The original Injeel (Gospel
of Jesus) as revealed to Jesus (peace
be upon him)
5. The Quran as revealed
to Muhammad (peace be
upon him) (which is still
available in its original form).
The scriptures revealed before
the Quran which are presently in circulation
in various editions and versions are not regarded
as accurate representation of their actual
revealed form. Distortions have occurred in
many different ways, such as additions or
deletion of text or changes in the meaning
or that language.
Although Muslims believe
in all the previous revealed books, the final
means by which they judge different matters
and seek ultimate guidance is sought through
the Qur’an and the authentic traditions
of the Prophet Muhammad (peace
be upon him).

Cloves
Cloves are the small, reddish
brown flower bud of the tropical
evergreen tree Syzygium aromaticum
believed indigenous to the Moluccas,
or Spice Islands, of Indonesia.
Strong of aroma and hot and
pungent in taste, cloves are
used in its whole form in fruit
punches, relishes, marinades
and sauces. In its ground form
it is used in cakes, cookies
and meat sauces. Clove is a
good antioxidant spice and commonly
used in the Mediterranean diet
as a natural antioxidant. The
island of Zanzibar, which is
part of Tanzania, is the world's
largest producer of cloves.
Madagascar and Indonesia are
smaller producers.
