Eid ul Adha (the festival of Sacrifice) will be upon us shortly. It is one of the most important annual festivals and acts of worship in Islam.

Muslims worldwide will undertake an animal sacrifice in keeping with the tradition of the Prophet Ibrahim or Abraham (peace be upon him), the Patriarch of the three monotheistic religions.  When commanded to sacrifice his firstborn son, (peace be upon him), this icon of faith did not hesitate in submitting to his Lord despite his deep love for the child.  

On these blessed days we commemorate the struggle and sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and reflect on his message, the importance of which is emphasised in the Noble Quraan;

“And who could be of better faith than he who surrenders his whole being unto Allah and is a doer of good and follows the creed of Ibrahim who turned away from all that is false – And Allah chose Ibrahim as His intimate friend.” (Chapter 4, Verse 125)

SANHA has recorded a series of explainer videos to help you ensure that your Udh-hiyyah (Qurbani) is carried out in accordance to the Shari’ah (Islamic Law). Guard against inadvertent errors and transgressions, which can nullify the act of worship.
